Thrifted jeans? Yoga pants? Sweats? What does one wear when they go climbing? Unlike sports like cycling or football, there isn't really a standard outfit. Out of curiosity, I went around and asked a bunch of people about their choices in clothing. Also, I spoke to writer/climber/anthropologist Zofia Reych to get their thoughts on the unwritten codes of climbing culture.


One climber’s journey of recovery and starting over.


In June 2025, the Philippines held its biggest bouldering competition: The Nationals. To prep for the event, Pilipinas Climbing invited multiple-time bouldering world champ Yoshiyuki Ogata to be their headsetter. I spent two days hanging out and filming Yoshi and the crew. This is a video about the setting process but also how collaborations like these help build the local climbing community.
